Nursing Master of Science – Online

About us

The ²ÝÁñ¶ÌÊÓƵ State University College of Nursing is proud to offer particular graduate-level specialty programs in a distance learning format. This option provides coursework to be completed entirely online and clinical experiences are completed in the student’s area.

The Online Master of Science degree program in nursing provides a broad clinical and classroom-based education with a strong emphasis on patient-centered practice. Several options are available which give students a solid background in the theory and foundations of nursing, and expose them to the latest technology and ideas in nursing.

By entering our graduate program, you will become a part of one of the nation’s premier research universities. Our students have access to exceptional faculty and research facilities and the support services of a large university, while benefiting from the high degree of personal attention and student interaction usually found in much smaller departments.

The option provides an opportunity for students with a baccalaureate degree in nursing, or those licensed as a Registered Nurse with a non-nursing bachelor's degree, to earn a Master of Science in nursing. Students select one advanced practice specialty at the time of application. Please visit for an overview of the specialty tracks and their modalities.

At this time, The ²ÝÁñ¶ÌÊÓƵ State University College of Nursing is authorized to enroll distance learning students in many U.S. states. However, due to varying state laws and regulations, there are also many states in which we are not currently permitted to offer distance learning programs. Residents of these states are not able to participate in the programs. Applicants are strongly encouraged to visit the  or email us at nursing@osu.edu to find out whether their program of interest is available in their home state. Please check back often, as the College and University are aggressively pursuing authorization in all 50 states. Residents outside of the U.S. are not able to participate in distance learning programs.
